Privacy Policy

Hejour is built on a simple idea: what you write is yours. This policy explains what data the Hejour apps (macOS and iOS) and this website handle, and what we can and cannot see. The short version: we never see your notes.

Your notes

Your notes, todos, and photos are stored as files on your own devices. If you enable iCloud sync, they sync through your personal iCloud account using Apple's infrastructure — end to end, between your devices. Hejour has no server that stores, reads, or processes your notes. There are no accounts, no sign-ups, and no way for us to access your content.

The iPhone app

Hejour for iPhone sends what you capture (notes, todos, photos) to your Mac through your own iCloud Drive. The data travels inside your Apple account; we never receive or handle it.

Usage analytics

The Mac app and this website collect anonymous usage analytics through PostHog (hosted in the EU) — things like "a note was created" or "a feature was used," plus basic device information such as app version and macOS version. This helps us understand which features matter. Analytics events never include the content of your notes, file names, or anything you write.

Purchases

Hejour Pro licenses are sold through Polar (polar.sh). When you buy a license, Polar processes your payment and shares your email address and license details with us so we can validate your license and help you with support. We never see your payment information. Polar's own privacy policy applies to the checkout process.

Software updates

The Mac app checks for updates using Sparkle against our GitHub releases. This involves a standard web request that includes your app version and macOS version — nothing personal.

Support

If you email us at support@hejour.com, we keep the conversation so we can help you. That's it.

What we don't do

We don't sell data. We don't run ads in the app. We don't track you across other apps or websites. We don't have a database of users — because we don't have accounts.

Changes

If this policy changes, we'll update this page and the effective date above. Questions? support@hejour.com.
